Perugia’s Sister

A poem

George Lamptey
May 15, 2021

She lay for days
Under the eye of lazy stones
And the lilies of the stream
Sang in the silence

She speaks often
Stories rich of expectation
Contemplating if a new way will begin
For the weaker ones

Those who fall
Where trials are in the noise
Playing out inaccuracies
Of market rivalry
Unnecessary conversations
That litter this peace

She simply sits
And talks to kin
Far away
Yet they share the same hearts
Same love
Same simplicity of autumn rain
They live
Like always
In two worlds
To sleep
To wake

A nice poem. Where is the pic from? How do the two merge in your story?
