I’ve seen you many times
But today
Your bloom is above splendour
Rich carpet sassy
Silk soft
Fingers lost in velvet strokes
Leaf bedding warm and scented

There is a confidence
Bold hoofs
Shimmering shadow chatter
Almost jazz-esque
I’m happy to be a witness!

So much innocence
As a crisp group of young minds
Cherished souls
Passed by
Bold opportunities
Unrestricted confidence
Running wild
Not tainted
By a world of fears
Constraints and worry

Who learns from who?
We grow
To become rigid
Our outlook
Harsh to tempered opinions
But we are adults
Owners of direction…
